• Biography

    Jeppe Hein (Copenhagen, Denmark 1974)

Born in 1974, Jeppe Hein studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts in Copenhagen and the Städel Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Frankfurt am Main, widely known for his production of experiential and interactive artworks which sit between art, architecture, and a kind of technical invention.

In the creation of his artworks, he uses an apparently simple language, often leveraging on humour, reminiscent of minimalist sculpture and conceptual art of the 1970s. His work often features surprising and captivating elements which place viewers at the centre of events, focusing on their experience and perception of the surrounding space.

His artworks are exhibited internationally, such as at Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Rockefeller Center, New York City; Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris.

He participated in the Venice Biennials in 2019 and 2003.
